United Way has a rich history in both Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties.

Allegany County 

Established in 1958 as the United Fund of Wellsville, evolving through name changes to the Allegany County United Way, Inc. With a 60-year tradition, ACUW supported human services agencies, fostering education, economic self-sufficiency, and healthy lives.

Cattaraugus County 

Since 1922, the United Way of Cattaraugus County has been a beacon of support, mobilizing resources to enhance community life. The annual campaign raised funds for vital programs at local human service agencies, ensuring that the money raised stayed within Cattaraugus County to support the community.

Unified Impact

Now merged as the United Way of Cattaraugus & Allegany Counties, our UNITED front aims to create a more significant and sustained impact on the well-being of our shared community.

Local Commitment

Raised here, stays here – all funds raised remain local, directly aiding individuals and families in need across Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties.
