United Way, Olean Public Library to Host Volunteer Fair April 22

A United Way Days of Caring volunteer helps seniors at Total Senior Care add to the Sammy the Snake rock collection.

United Way of Cattaraugus & Allegany Counties (UWCAC), in partnership with the Olean Public Library, is hosting a volunteer fair on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. at the Olean Public Library.

This free event invites community members to explore volunteer opportunities with several local organizations to help make a difference.

With multiple organizations on-site, attendees can meet nonprofit representatives, learn about different ways to get involved, and find a volunteer opportunity that fits their interests, skills, and availability.

“Volunteers are the heart of our community,” Susan McAuley, UWCAC executive director, said. “There are so many organizations doing incredible work in our region, and many people who want to help. The Volunteer Fair brings them together, making it easier for community members to discover causes they care about and get involved.”

The volunteer fair is free and open to all. Attending organizations include:

  • American Red Cross

  • CASA-Trinity’s Adventures In Recovery

  • Cattaraugus County Department of Aging’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

  • Cattaraugus County Health Department’s Veggie Wheels

  • Connecting Communities in Action

  • Cornell Cooperative Extension

  • Cuba Library and Friends of the Cuba Library

  • Directions in Independent Living’s Compeer Program, Benefits Advisement/MH, and Medicaid Application Assistance Program for the Aged Blind and Disabled

  • Girl Scouts of Western New York

  • HomeCare & Hospice

  • League of Women Voters

  • Operation Warm Hearts, Inc.

UWCAC is working to connect individuals, workplaces, and civic groups with opportunities to make a lasting impact in our community, from year-round volunteer opportunities to events that celebrate the spirit of giving back.
