United Way Grants $105,000 to Support Local Services
Catholic Charities' Joyce Family Food Pantry Volunteers
United Way of Cattaraugus & Allegany Counties has awarded $105,000 in community grants to 21 programs serving residents of Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties. These investments reflect United Way’s commitment to strengthening families, supporting youth, and meeting basic needs across the region.
“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we’re able to help support organizations that are on the front lines creating change in our communities,” said Susan McAuley, Executive Director. “Each program addresses a real, local need, whether it’s food for a struggling family, child care for working parents, or support for our seniors.”
Programs received support based on their services that directly impact families’ urgent needs, youth, health, and financial security throughout the region.
Addressing urgent needs:
Allegany County Community Opportunities and Rural Development, Inc. (ACCORD) Belmont Food Pantry;
Catholic Charities of Buffalo for the Joyce Family Food Pantry in Wellsville;
FeedMore WNY, for Cattaraugus County’s food pantry system;
St. Bonaventure University’s The Warming House;
The Salvation Army of Olean’s utility shutoff assistance program; and
The Salvation Army of Wellsville’s emergency shelter program.
Investing in youth:
Allegheny Highland Council, Scouting America;
Challenger Learning Center of the Twin Tier Region’s STEAM Summer Camps;
Fillmore Powerhouse Youth Center’s after-school tutoring and recreation program;
Girl Scouts of Western New York;
Houghton Royal Family Kids Camp; and
St. Bonaventure University’s Bona Buddies.
Improving health resources:
Allegany County Association for the Blind and Visually Handicapped;
Ardent Solutions, Inc.’s program to prepare isolated older adults for emergencies;
HomeCare & Hospice’s Preparing for Peace: Community End-of-Life Education program;
Cuba Memorial Hospital’s community health and wellness fair; and
Special Olympics New York, Inc.’s programs for participants’ health and well-being.
Building financial security:
Genesis House of Olean, Inc.; and
Trinity Christian Daycare’s scholarships for working families.
United Way’s grants are designed to build community resiliency, improve health outcomes, and create more equitable opportunities for all. Every dollar raised stays in the community, supporting nonprofit partners that address both immediate needs and long-term change.
