Feeding Hope: United Way’s Local Impact on Hunger Relief
ACCORD engages volunteers to host Pop Up Pantry food distributions on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Each distribution serves around 300 families.
As our community faces the ongoing challenges of the government shutdown, many families are struggling to make ends meet, especially when it comes to putting food on the table.
At United Way of Cattaraugus & Allegany Counties, we know that hunger doesn’t wait, and we are proud to stand alongside the local heroes who are helping keep our friends and neighbors fed during this difficult time.
This year, United Way has awarded $40,800 in grants to support local nutrition programs across both counties, including:
Allegany County Senior Foundation’s Senior Nutrition Program
Catholic Charities’ Joyce Family Pantry (Allegany County) and Franklinville Food Pantry
FeedMore WNY’s Partners Fighting Hunger: Cattaraugus
The Salvation Army’s Emergency Food Pantry for Wellsville/Allegany County
St. Bonaventure University’s The Warming House soup kitchen
Each of these organizations plays a vital role in ensuring that no one in our community has to go hungry. Their teams and volunteers work tirelessly to meet rising demand, and United Way is proud to help strengthen their efforts through local donor support.
If you or someone you know is struggling right now, help is available. Dial 211 or visit 211wny.org to be connected with food pantries, meal programs, and other essential community resources near you.
Together, we can continue to show the caring power of our community making sure every neighbor has what they need to thrive, no matter the challenge.
