Annual Pump & Run Set for August 21 in Olean
Community Fitness Challenge to Benefit United Way
Paul Eade congratulates a young competitor at the conclusion of the 2025 Pump & Run.
The Eade Fitness 8th Annual Pump & Run is slated for Friday, August 21, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The event, combining strength and speed in support of the United Way of Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties (UWCAC), begins and ends at Eade Fitness 24/7 in downtown Olean.
Founded by Eade Fitness owner and former United Way board member Paul Eade, the Pump & Run is a unique competition that blends bench pressing and a one-mile run.
Participants begin by bench pressing a weight determined by their age group. Once all lifts are complete, runners take off on a one-mile course through downtown Olean, ending with a celebration at Eade Fitness. Each bench press repetition takes time off the runner’s final mile time.

“The Pump & Run is a fun, high-energy event that brings people together and showcases the best of our community: strength, perseverance, and generosity,” said Sue McAuley, UWCAC executive director. “It’s a great way to challenge yourself while supporting programs that make a difference right here in our region.”
Proceeds from the Pump & Run benefit the United Way, helping to fund local programs that support youth opportunity, economic stability, healthy communities, and more.
